Lesson 3 - Cartooning
Using the Grid method, you are to create 2 cartoons.
1. Grid your original picture with one inch grids.
2. Grid a 12 x 18 piece of white paper with 1.5 inch grids. This will make the cartoon that you draw, 1.5 times larger than the original.
3. Using a pencil, number the original squares in the grid, then number the squares on your drawing paper.
4. Start at grid 1,1 and draw what you see in grid 1,1 on your drawing paper.
5. Continue to draw only what you see in each square until your drawing is complete.
6. Erase the grid lines.
7. Go over the pencil drawing with sharpie markers using thin and thick lines where appropriate.
