Lesson 7 - Color Wheel
You are to create a Color Wheel that has the primary, secondary and tertiary colors. You may make a traditional Color Wheel, or use untraditional images such as the elephants shown above.
1. Draw a circle using a guide.
2. Divide the circle into three.
3. Divide each third into four.
4. Before painting, mark where each color will be placed. Make sure the primary colors are equally spread out around the circle (one primary color every third)
Primary colors - Red, yellow, blue
Secondary colors - Orange, green, purple
Tertiary colors - yellow–orange, red–orange, red–purple, blue–purple, blue-green, yellow–green
Essential Question: How can I use color to create a mood in a piece of artwork?
