Lesson 8 - Monochromatic Painting
You are to create a monochromatic portrait painting of an image that you have altered in Photoshop.
1. Find a picture of yourself or someone famous on the internet. Copy the image - right click copy image.
2. Open up Photoshop and create a new document that is 8.5 x 11.
3. Paste the image. Go to Edit, free transform and scale the image to fit the page.
4. Under filter chose artistic cutout and set the levels to 6.
5. This will break you image down to 6 planes of color.
6. Using carbon paper, transfer your image onto a 9 x 12 piece of heavy white paper.
7. Chose a color of acrylic paint.
8. Add white, tint and black, shade to create 6 different versions of your color.
9. Fill in each plane of color with the appropriate tint or shade of that color.
